Yantra Yoga teacher Mathew Long
I teach Yantra Yoga, an extraordinary Yoga of Movement and Breathing deriving from the ancient Tibetan culture.
Yantra Yoga’s unique series of positions and movements, combined with conscious breathing, can help coordinate and harmonise one’s personal energy so that the mind can relax and find its authentic balance.
This system of Yoga contains a wide range of movements that can be applied by everyone. It is a superb method for attaining optimal health and fitness, relaxation, and balance through the coordination of breath and movement.
Having first studied Yantra Yoga with international teacher Fabio Andrico back in the early 90s, I am a dedicated student of the master and lineage holder Chögyal Namkhai Norbu.I received a First Level Yantra Yoga Diploma in 2003, and I am especially motivated to open the door to this precious teaching which has the capacity to really benefit beings.
I have also trained and coached extensively in sports and the martial arts, particularly Judo.Originally a graduate of Anthropology (ANU), that and my practice of Yantra Yoga further inspired me to complete a three-year course in traditional Tibetan Medicine at the Shang Shung Institute (USA).I am now Vice President of the Shang Shung Institute in Australia, and particularly active in coordinating their program of public events and courses, including Yantra Yoga.I am also founder and creative director of the Aeon Academy centre for education through creativity in Canberra, Australia, and have accumulated many years of educator experience.
People say I am a patient and enthusiastic teacher ; )My instruction is guided by the deep and abiding respect I have for the effectiveness of the Yantra Yoga system which I feel honoured to teach.
